Qat Wanders’ book Overcoming Chronic Pain Through Yoga, gets my highest recommendation for anyone dealing with chronic pain.  

I work as the lead Physical Therapist for one of the nation’s top Spine Centers in Sacramento, California where I am working with pain management doctors, surgeons, therapists, acupuncturists and other medical staff to help those that are dealing with chronic pain. And I am always looking for the best resources for my patients; this will now be at the top of my list.    

The content is easy to read and shows how all the different systems in your body can contribute to your pain, including concepts like hypermobility, fibromyalgia, sciatica and repetitive trauma.  She also has specific actions that you can take to not only understand your body’s symptoms but to start treating them, including her own Mindful Movement Techniques.  As she talks about in the book, Qat does not only have the education and experience of working with people in chronic pain but has experienced it herself and knows what it takes to get back to a life where you are not limited by pain.
