I just finished reading Qat Wanders’ book, Overcoming Chronic Pain Through Yoga, and I am impressed. There are so many complex medical jargon books about how to get healthy. Qat takes a unique approach to education.
On the one hand, it reads like you are learning from an authority on health and wellness and at the same time, it also feels like you are having a conversation with a close friend who is trying to help you get healthier while hanging out on your couch on a Sunday afternoon. Qat gives you the details if you want them, but also simply tells you what you can do.
I love her personal stories of struggle and victory that she eloquently explains throughout the book. This is a must-read for anyone looking to improve their health!Dr. Jason Piken
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED BOOK IN OVERCOMING CHRONIC PAIN
This book is a treasure to keep. One should have this book as it offers excellent, practical and doable tips for overcoming chronic pain. This is not just about the yoga that everyone knows: spandex and headstands.
It is much better than this. What makes this book a more interesting read is how the author shared her own chronic pain experiences, how she dealt with it, what she learned and discovered, what worked and did not work in eradicating her pain, and then generously and lovingly provided tips that can EFFECTIVELY help people.
I love the tips on Mindfulness and Shifting Mindset just to name a few. These should be the foundation of all healing modalities. Be healed and get this book now!Elsa Mendoza
“Finally! An easily digestible how-to manual for anyone who is looking to overcome their chronic pain and regain control of their life, health, and overall well-being. Qat Wanders has a compelling backstory worthy of writing this book of deep knowledge for people needing to overcome their suffering and as she points out, overcome fear. If you are in constant anticipation of experiencing your chronic pain and live in fear of it, don’t waste another second and buy this book.
Because if you are willing to have dedication, motivation, faith, and a strong belief that you actually can get better, then this book will be your new must-read.”Sarah Saint-Laurent
Qat Wanders’ book Overcoming Chronic Pain Through Yoga, gets my highest recommendation for anyone dealing with chronic pain.
I work as the lead Physical Therapist for one of the nation’s top Spine Centers in Sacramento, California where I am working with pain management doctors, surgeons, therapists, acupuncturists and other medical staff to help those that are dealing with chronic pain. And I am always looking for the best resources for my patients; this will now be at the top of my list.
The content is easy to read and shows how all the different systems in your body can contribute to your pain, including concepts like hypermobility, fibromyalgia, sciatica and repetitive trauma. She also has specific actions that you can take to not only understand your body’s symptoms but to start treating them, including her own Mindful Movement Techniques. As she talks about in the book, Qat does not only have the education and experience of working with people in chronic pain but has experienced it herself and knows what it takes to get back to a life where you are not limited by pain.
I will be using this as a tool to help my patients dealing with pain of all types including long-lasting chronic pain, and would highly recommend it for anyone who is currently living their lives in the shadow of chronic pain.Sean Sumner
